called as ‘ Indian Ginseng ‘. The dried root of the plant
is used as drug. The root contents are basically fiber,
seponin, sepogin, and glycosides.

demand of roots of this species is mainly for preparation
of Ayurvedic and Allopathic medicines and tonics. It is
one of major ingredients in any kind of Chyawan-prash.
In
rural and urban India Ladoos made from it are given to expecting
/ lactating mothers as additional nourishment, and to rejuvenate
them. It is also used as major components in all kinds of
sex-tonics and capsules.
It
is said to be highly effective for rheumatic complaints,
diabetes, hypertension, gestro troubles, and cardio – vascular
complaints. In short it has rejuvenating and energy providing
effects.

many foreign countries it fetches very high value due to
its use in energy drinks and flakes.
